SUMMARY:First UCC Quakertown Strawberry Festival
DESCRIPTION:How do you like your strawberries? Straight up\, with ice cream\, with pound cake\, with whipped cream?\nWhatever you choose\, you’ll find it at the First United Church of Christ’s Strawberry Festival in Quakertown. All are welcome at the festival on Saturday\, June 13\, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church\, 151 4th Street in Quakertown. Admission is free\, and tickets for food and games are available for purchase. Event is rain or shine.\nHot dogs\, hamburgers\, barbecued beef and chicken\, and an array of side dishes are on the menu\, as desserts made by the congregation.\nVolunteers will serve fresh strawberries plain\, with ice cream\, and with pound cake – and don’t forget the whipped cream.\nThis year is especially festive\, as it marks the 75th anniversary of the event. Since it began in 1951\, festival organizers have contributed all the event’s proceeds to the church’s kids ministry and adult education programs.\nIt’s more than food\nAdults can check out a silent auction with new and gently used items with a wide range of opening bids\, and shop for strawberry and strawberry rhubarb pies available for sale. \nKids can enjoy games and win prizes. The Kelly Jax Band and Marian the Ventriloquist will each do two shows during the festival.
