DESCRIPTION:What: A super-fun team shopping challenge! \nWhen: June 20th\, 8:30 AM – 1 PM \nWhere: Home base will be at Faith Church in west Allentown\, but your team will spend time together shopping for bargains in the community. \nTeams: Eight teams with 6-8 individuals (ages 12+) per team. (Children under 12 are welcome\, but they will not count towards the 6-8 team member total.) We encourage you to invite your friends and family in order to form your own team! Having said that\, if you prefer to register as an individual\, you are welcome to do so! (In that case\, we will assign you to a team.) \nCost: Registration fee is $200 per team or $30 per person. The registration fee can be paid via PayPal or by check. Checks can be sent to Plesion\, P.O. Box 532\, Schnecksville\, PA 18078. All $200 will be returned to your team in the form of a Visa gift card on the day of the event. That will be your shopping money! \nWhat will happen: After a short greeting and time to go over the details\, each team will be provided with a wish list for a specific child\, sibling group\, or family. Your team will then have a total of 3 hours to plan\, shop\, and prepare your items to display to the other teams. The goal is to be super-shoppers so that you can fill as many of the requests on your wish list as possible with the $200 gift card. Team members can drive separately or carpool to stores but must all go to the same stores as their teammates (so you can’t go to one store while your teammates go to another store). Once in a store\, your team is allowed to split apart or stick together. \nLunch will be provided from 12:15 until 1 PM for all participants. \nPlease feel free to reach out with any questions! DESCRIPTION:The Congregational Institute at Central Schwenkfelder Church is offering a week long accredited class\, Living with World Religions. In our nation\, we are being exposed to ever-greater religious diversity. As those wanting to be faithful\, Christians need to be sensitive to other faith viewpoints\, be clear about Christian distinctives\, and understand how to share the Christian perspective appropriately. \nOur lead instructor is Dr. Andrew Brunson who will speak about “Living with Islam.” Andrew and his wife\, Norine\, were involved in starting churches and a house of prayer\, training Christian leaders\, and providing aid to refugees in Turkey for 23 years. In October 2016\, Andrew Brunson was falsely accused on terrorism charges\, and was held for two years in Turkish prisons. \nOther instructors will address Living with Hinduism\, Buddhism\, Pluralism\, Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
